Well, laying aside that I also wouldn't have voted for Redshirts, being cantankerous like that, I think there is a line that thistleingrey points out well below: that Redshirts is in conversation with Star Trek, but is independent enough to be publishable, whereas HPMoR does not hit that bar.
You don't have to read SttC first -- I am getting the distinct impression that I just don't know anything about Heyer or Regency romances. I'd never really read any Heyer before a year or two ago, and didn't realize Heyer pastiche is a Thing.
