Standing for short periods isn't so bad, and now that we're in the choir loft I can wear whatever shoes I want (wearing any sort of non-casual shoe and actually standing/walking in them has become pretty much impossible) -- but yeah, choir director would love to have me come and sit the whole time rather than not come at all.
